BKO 2013 sumarization

How was the British Kendama Open (BKO) this year? It was bigger and one day longer. BKO split up with the British Juggling Convention and took it's part at Bristol. This freedom was the advantage for the BKO. Saturday was the Social day, we were walking around the city playing kendama and compete each other in a various competitions. The main event was on Sunday. I am not as good in kendama as I used to be so I went to BKO without any ambitions but I've managed to win two small competitions anyway. BKO 2013 was great, I am looking forward to next one.

New TK-16 master kendama review

Right after I have arrived from EJC I told my self that I deserve a new kendama. My choice was clear as usual, I wanted yellow Ozora. But I was quite dissapointed with it, it looks like this one missed the quality control process: bad sanded serrado, two different shades of yellow on tama. So I tuned it up with my old tama and sanded the serrado, but something was wrong anyway. At this point I have tried to play my old black TK-16 which I was not able to play with. I have found out that I can do all my tricks with it and I even like this kendama. I find the TK production more consistent then Ozora. You can buy yellow Ozora with 68g tama and the next one with 83g tama, it is harder to stay consistent without having the consistent weapon of choice. So that is why I have bought yellow TK instead of Ozora this time. It is slippery one and you have to be more patient with it but it plays great. I am wondering if I can stay on TK until the BKO 2013. Pavel you can now say “I told you so”. Mirek

This time we went bit further with customization and used drill. So that is how me made Lime Kendama check it out. 

British Kendama Skill Level Examinations

I have became the official British Kendama Association examiner at the EJC 2012, so I can now check you how good you are in kendama. British examination is almost the same as Japanese with one difference, you must perform all required tricks in one go. If want to get checked don’t hesitate and contact me, I can perform exams to my level of experience, it is the first dan. If you pass the exam and register to the British Kendama Association forum you will find your self in our table of choosen.
