I have won The Consistency Competition #10

It was a first may the time of love and I was clicking hard on Skream beats to win Consistency Competition #10. I did it. For those who are not familiar with Consistency Competition, it is the competiton organised by British Kendama Asociation on their forum. The rule is simple, you have to go true the ladder on one try, film it and post it into forum. In case you are first you win some stuff, get respect and the right to make next Consistency Competition. So don't be pussy and join us.

Summary of British Kendama Open 2012

It was great to see all those Kendama players and legends again. It was kinda sad to me that I had to eliminate two legends: (Guy Heathcote and The Void) plus a young British talent Johnny, on way up. You have to train more, guys! I was only beaten by the famous Matt Nix a.k.a. Kendamatty so I won a very nice second place in the Advanced division and Matt is again the British Kendama Champion. I am not sure what the reason was - location or tickets price - but the BKO was smaller than the previous one.

Two trends followed the British Kendama Open. The first trend was a total domination of Yellow Ozora in all competitions except Beginners. Even the four best players in Advance had Yellow Ozy

The growing number of continental European players in top positions was the second trend. Second and third place in Advanced Division (Czech - Mirek Šiřina, Dutch - Alex Ruisch), Moshi-kame competition winner (Czech), Speed trick challenge winner (Dutch), third in Best trick (Dutch). Our positions with a Dutch guy (Jeffrey Van Rasta) were 10th and 14th place in Advanced the year before. I hope this trend doesn’t end with closing the BKO to non-British players because that would be pity.

Kengarden, San Francisco and Las Vegas

As a Kendama player and seller I couldn't make a vacation without Kendama so I visited The Kengarden. Kengarden is a small garden in San Francisco where grows ferns and Kendama tricks and it is also the most inspirative place for Kendama player now days. I also became a part in March Kengarden Battle, luckily for me the complete results are not online. USA was for me a great example how to do thinks elegant, simple and with grace. So I hope this will make some impact on kendama.cz. Check out my photos from Kengarden March Battle and from San Francisco & Las Vegas. Big thanks to Jake Wiens, Turbos Flamas crew and to all people I met.

Freestyle Wednesdays

I am starting the tradition of Freestyle Wednesdays by the 4th April on our Kendama Spot (under the rail station Zlín Dlouhá). Don't be afraid and come play with us. K.E.N.D.A.M.A. GAME is a must play and we can also exchange some tricks and so.

We are starting at 5pm, event is canceled in case of bad weather.

Vacation

For those of you that are interested in numbers or just we curious we dug data from Google Analytics and wiht help of Google Fusion tables baked two pies for you. First one is 2011 total visits of kendama.cz. Second one is December only pie. Try to find your city. We thank you if you are on top otherwise you should push more.

The British Kendama Associtation has started its own official gradings

The British Kendama Associtation (BKA) wants to stay compatible with the Japan Kendama Association (JKA), so the trick lists and grades remain the same. JKA gradings are recognized by the BKA, but unfortunately BKA gradings are not
recognized by the JKA yet. Unlike the JKA, participants must pay for BKA gradings: Kyu: £2 / €2.50, Pre-Dan: £5 / €6, Dan: £10 / €12.

For those of you who want to get their Kendama grades, I would recommend you get the JKA ones; they're free and recognized by the JKA.

The BKA grading system should be spread around Europe and we are working hard to be the first to implement them.

CONSISTENCY video competition is a competition on British Kendama Asociation forum. Rules are simple the first person to post a perfect run of the ladder in thread wins.
So no editing, no cuts, no sneakiness, just a clean run in order wins!

CONSISTENCY video competiton #6 ended recenly so we are now waiting for #7. Some of the previous competitions ended in few hours, one must been canceled because
only announcer was able to went thru it.

Peter Bergmann was the One and only person that defeated my Czech Kendama Open 2011 trick ladder and won The Czech Kendama Open 2011. Best Czech and new Czech Kendama Champion 2012 is Marek Mikulec - ended 3rd, Pavel Vavilin - ended 2nd. The winner of Begginers is Kristina Šišková, Bird Contest Mirek Šiřina, K.E.N.D.A.M.A. GAME with only two letters in 21 rounds Radek Pšenica. Congrats to all and thanks to all participants.

There will be no Kendama Open next year becouse of the new system of CKO, but we are planing Kendama Weekend with some BBQ durring summer. The next Czech Kendama Open will happen in 2013 durring the Kendama Weekend in case the World not ends in 2012.
